My list of favorite things about Maine:

Clear blue sky, rocky coasts, towering spruce trees gracing the mountains.

Andrew Wyeth, and the Farnsworth Art Museum with the world's largest Wyeth collection.

Rockland, a working town in the midst of tourist trade, with its strong Yankee spirit.

Camden, its genteel downtown.

Searsport, once a bustling sailing capital with a cosmopolitan past. Check out the Penobscot Maritime Museum.

Village greens all over Penobscot Bay.

White churches with sharp steeples.

Lighthouses.

Pickett fences. Geraniums and pansies on window sills.

Go on a working lobster boat cruise and learn to haul lobster traps.
